Growing up, I was known as the bossy classmate, friend, and family member. It was not until two years ago that I realized a Leader was on the inside just waiting to burst out and mature. I began taking classes, receiving mentorship, attending events, and reading books, because the leader waiting on the inside would not let me rest, until I put in some work.
My mentor once told me that whatever breaks my heart is probably the very thing I was created and purposed for. After years of being under poor leadership, I knew it was a heartbreaker for me. It was a nuisance. Everything that was done without considering the team, caused me literal heartache. In dysfunctional leadership, I began to find my purpose and began to understand my assignment.
